About Us - Enrolment Kindergarten & Pre-Primary


It is necessary for parents of students attending Kindergarten or Pre-Primary programs this year to apply for placement the following year if they wish their child to continue attending at Perenjori Primary School. This can be done by completing an Application for Enrolment Form. Application details are used to assist the school in organising placements and classes for the following year and for transition purposes.

Application for Enrolment Forms are also available at the school office. Once completed the form can be emailed for initial placement.



Following the receipt of the Application for Enrolment Form, and if your child is moving from another school, a time will be arranged for you to meet with the Administrative Staff, and classroom teacher if possible, to discuss your child. At this interview you should accurately represent the needs of your child as evidenced through previous schooling, day care or observations. 

In all instances where enrolment is to proceed, for each child enrolled, you will be invited to complete an Enrolment Form and to provide a copy of the following where applicable:

  • your child’s birth extract, certificate or passport;

  • immunisation records;

  • special medical conditions or needs;

  • special learning needs;

  • Family Court Orders or parenting plans registered with the Family Court(if applicable);

  • previous school report/s; and

  • any information on suspensions and exclusions.

The only exception is for current students enrolling in Pre-Primary and Year One, where previously provided documentation can be used.

Parents, carers and guardians of all students in Australia have been asked to provide information regarding their family background as part of a national initiative towards providing an education system that is fair to all students regardless of their background. The required information includes the indigenous status and language background of the student, and the education, occupation, and language background of the parents.

Permanent residents of Australia and children holding an approved visa sub class number, are eligible to enrol in Western Australian Government Schools.

As legislated, all Western Australian Schools are required to enrol students according to their birth dates at 30 June for each academic year. Children enrolling from overseas or interstate are generally enrolled in classes appropriate to age as with children in Western Australian. The determination about the enrolment of the child into a specific year of schooling and/or the educational program is also based on the child’s previous schooling, achievement levels and identified needs.

  • All children of compulsory school age (Pre-Primary to Year 6) are guaranteed places. Children must turn 4 years of age by June 30 in the year that they enrol for Kindergarten. Students begin school at the beginning of the school year irrespective of birth date.

Change of Enrolment Information

  • The information supplied on the Enrolment Form is most important. Parents are requested to advise the school of any changes of address, emergency contact details, family doctor, telephone numbers, medical conditions or variations to Family Court Orders or parenting plans registered with the Family Court that teachers need information about. Please contact the school office to update any details.
